There are many different Content Management
Systems out there, what makes Elemental any better than any of the others?
This was the question we posed ourselves
before we developed Elemental. We had
collectively seen many different CMS systems, each with certain strengths but
many weaknesses. The most common
weakness was complexity. Too many
systems promised a great deal (in fact so much that you would never use most of
the functionality), with a performance hit on the one thing that every client indicated
their number one requirement – simplicity.
Elemental was developed with the core
intention that the system must be as simple for the user as could humanly be
possible. As its name suggests,
Elemental is based on the concept that every managed part of your page is its
own element, and these elements make up your total content. No complicated templates, no issues with
scheduling or approving content, no code snippets. Just simple content management.
Another important fact about Elemental is that each implementation is
fully customised to your requirements - no trying to mould our
functionality around your needs - we will adapt Elemental to fully
satisfy all aspects of your project.
That said, the fact that the system is
unbelievably straightforward to use, does not mean it is short on
functionality. In built is a document
management system, allowing you to upload PDFs or other documentation to allow
you to link to it from within your content.
Of course there is also the ability for you to upload whatever imagery
you like from within the system also.
All content in the CMS is laid out as you would see it on the page, and
has a full WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) interface, allowing you to
drag and drop content around freely. The
interface is very similar to any word processing software – if you can use this
kind of software then you will have absolutely no problems using Elemental.
The system works on PC and Apple Macintosh,
on all mainstream browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox and equivalents, and
Safari) – and produces 100% compliant XHTML code. This may not be important to you, but it is
to the search engines – properly displayed code gives you extra points in your
quest up the search rankings. It also
means your site should look exactly how you intended it to in more than just
PC-based Internet Explorer.

Elemental, or simply a discussion on how it can help your needs, feel free to

is to take control of your content.
